Hello,

I was thinking what to speak about today and I decided to tell you a little bit about me. Yeah, so as you surely know I have been teaching English and it is really, really long time. I believe that it is probably over 12 years already. I started immediately when I was 18 in the summer after my 18th birtday because I passed successfully my first certificate of English. It was the Czech state exam of English B2 level and for me it was really a big success, psychically surely.

Because when I remember my beginnings, it was really tough. Lots of people speak about talents and if they have a head for languages or they don't have a head for languages and anything like that but I doubt that. I am not that case surely. I have never had any talent for languages and it is only hard work I would tell. When I finished the primary school, I started studying at the grammar school in Frýdek-Místek and that was a big change … a complete change in my life. Complete change because one of my classmates is my current husband so we are for really very long time together also. But also English. In the first year of the grammar school we had really a good teacher. I admire her till now even though I can't remember even her name. Because she was teaching us only a half year probably, but that half of year opened my eyes completely. From the beginning, of course, that we probably hated the teacher because she was very strict. We wrote really huge amount of tests every lesson... every lesson one of us was tested for some oral speaking, yeah, you know, part … and every lesson we did some new grammar and every lesson we did new vocabulary... till now I really admire her how she even was capable of completing the lesson like that .. that we did so many activities during 45 minutes only– that's admirable. Especially now when I work as a teacher I can tell that she was trully excellent. Unfortunately for us, you know, after half year we really understood we have to work hard that there is no way, and that motivated us a lot, she was an amazing teacher and I can tell that you know... I had all As at primary school, no problem, and suddenly I had C from English that was shock .. C almost D actually... that was really a big … a big challenge for me to improve it. And that started actually my career. In the spring of that school year she announced that she was pregnant and she had some risk pregnancy type so she had to stay at home and leave her teaching. So we were really sad .. all the class. We were partly shocked because, you know, we were used to her rhytme of teaching and everything suddenly it was over, but the last thing which she told us … if we are planning really to do anything with English in future, we should go to the language school.

In that time 12, 13 years back in Frýdek-Místek it was really not a bit offer for everybody as it is now I suppose. So I told my parents and they supported me and that was my beginning. Yeah, I started and after 2 years of language school I passed my exam and it started my carreer.

So I really thank her for all … for everything what I am. She was really admirable and I believe that she is still an admirable teacher.
