TIME CLAUSES
The basic rule of time clauses is that we cannot use "will" in the sentence immediately placed after the time clauses conjunctions.
Time clauses conjunctions:
For example:
I will help you when I come back.
As soon as I return I will call you.
Before you eat your lunch, you will do the dishes.
Remember: till, until
Until is considered as a negative word in the sentence and therefore you cannot put there other negatives such as: not, never, ...
Until you do it.
Till you come home.
Do not forget there cannot be two negative words in the sentence. Never combine in one sentence for example: not .. never, not ... nobody, not ... nothing, not ... until and so on.
When x If
When – This conjunction is usually used for things which are sure to happen. We can say that we can be sure that they will happen in 80% probability.
If – The conjuction is usually used for things which are not so much sure to happen (look at conditionals). We can say that we can be sure that they will happen in 50% probability.
Examples:
When I get home, I will send you a message.
As soon as I arrive,
I will let you
know.
After I write my essay, I will help him.
Before I go to school, I will call you.
As soon as
the film starts, I will turn off my mobile
phone.
Before I leave my flat, I will close the window.
