Using:

 - something generally happens - it is not important who does it.

            A banoffi pie is made with bananas and toffee.

- the person is not important for us in the situation or we do not know who does it/ did it

            The garage rang to say your car has been repaired.

                    My camera was stolen.

            The car was stolen from outside the house.

 - we can use also as subject the person and to the thing, this is often used with following verbs:  ask, offer, pay, show, teach, tell, give – používá se velmi často!

 

            The police were given the information. = The information was given to the police.  


           
 I was given the present.

 

            She has been asked to do it.

 

            He will be told not to speak about it.

 

 

Forms:

            We do not use usually continuous form of the following tenses: present perfect, past perfect, future, future perfect. Instead of that you have to use simple form of the tense.
