Good morning. Today I would like to present and tell you a little bit about very popular exam which is named FCE. This exam belongs to system of exams Cambridge English and it is today really very popular. Nowadays, practically, everybody … everybody knows it or probably every student should know it at least. This exam is really very popular, and you need it definitely if you are to study abroad or work abroad, to present your knowledge of English, and also probably at your university or secondary school studying here in the Czech Republic. It really shows your abilities and skills and, yeah, it is really very good to have this exam. So the exam and its system. I would like to say that there is really a system which is quite difficult to understand for somebody who has never heard about anything similar. So therefore, I would like to emphasise that it is really important for students to learn about it a little bit more before taking this exam. Without this information, I think, that's only my opinion, it is really hard to pass the exam successfully. Or if you have really this... this experience of your own and you passed it without any problems so you probably underestimated yourself, and you should take the higher level of these exams as probably CAE or even CPE (the highest possible). Yeah, well.
So this exam is split into 4 parts. The first part is Reading and Use of English, the second part is Writing, the third part is Listening and last, the fourth part, is Speaking. So, basically, it is split into the written part and the oral part. Therefore, it is practically impossible to pass all the exam in one day. Because of huge number of students, because of huge amount of information, and also because of the time for passing the exam because it is really long – they want really to test you thoroughly, which is correct completely. So, don´t worry. I'd just like to warn you that you are probably going to be invited twice for the exam. So, the first the written part, the second the oral part or opposite, of course.
Yeah, very well. So where to start with the exam …the parts itself like Reading and Use of English and Listening and Writing and Speaking I would like to speak about in some different video because I believe it can be really long and because I would like to give you correct and exact information about.What is really important for you to know that you need a lot of time, you should prepare yourself for .. not completely grammar, of course, grammar is really important to know but I would tell, from my point of view, as being a Czech student, vocabulary stock is definitely more important there in comparsion with our Czech exams. That's definitely the truth. Then it is really a huge amount of text – you need to be capable of reading really fast and of very good comprehension of the text. They really serve you very long and long articles and you really need to concentrate a lot, make notes and a lot of things around for you to understand it well.
